The transgender pride flag is a symbol used by individuals who identify as transgender, which means that their gender identity differs from the sex assigned to them at birth. The transgender pride flag consists of five stripes: pink, white, and light blue, with a baby blue stripe and a pink stripe on the edges. The pink stripe represents the traditional color associated with femininity, the white stripe represents non-binary or non-gendered identity, the light blue stripe represents the traditional color associated with masculinity, and the baby blue and pink stripes on the edges represent the blending of the two. Some people who are transgender may also use other pride flags, such as the LGBTQ+ pride flag or the non-binary pride flag, to represent their identity. The transgender pride flag was designed by Monica Helms in 1999.
