The bear pride flag is a symbol used by individuals who identify as bears, a subculture within the LGBTQ+ community that is traditionally associated with masculinity, body hair, and larger body types. The bear pride flag consists of six stripes: brown, red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The brown stripe represents the natural and organic, the red stripe represents the strength and courage of bears, the orange stripe represents healing and home, the yellow stripe represents sunlight and the bear spirit, the green stripe represents growth and the environment, and the blue stripe represents harmony and serenity. The bear pride flag was designed by Craig Byrnes in 1995. Some people who identify as bears may also use other pride flags, such as the LGBTQ+ pride flag, to represent their identity.
